- Governor Sanwo-Olu Rewards 177 Outstanding Lagos Public Servants with Cars

The Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration has recognized 177 outstanding public servants in Lagos State with brand new cars and a total of N155.5 million in cash awards.
Eko Hot Blog reports that during the 2025 Mr. Governor’s luncheon for exceptional civil servants, five senior category officers won new cars through a raffle draw, while 94 others in the senior category received N1 million each. Among junior staff, five individuals were awarded N5 million each, while 73 others received N500,000 each.

In addition, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced the promotion of Mrs. Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, Director-General of the Office of Transformation, Creativity, and Innovation, to the position of Permanent Secretary. He also approved a N10 million donation to her office in recognition of its contributions to enhancing Lagos’ national and global profile.
The event, held at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, brought together selected public servants from Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), Local Government Areas, and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of the state.
Addressing attendees, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged civil servants to maintain diligence, commitment, and excellence in their duties, emphasizing that hard work would not go unnoticed. “Recognition of outstanding officers is a deliberate effort to reward excellence and encourage consistency in service delivery,” he said.
He encouraged the awardees to identify and refine their strengths, remain committed to high standards, and sustain excellence over time. Highlighting the collective effort behind Lagos’ achievements, the governor noted that public service remains central to effective governance and development.
Earlier, Lagos State Head of Service Mr. Bode Agoro explained that the 177 awardees were selected from 312 nominations through a rigorous and transparent process. Agoro commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for his unwavering support and urged civil servants to continue exhibiting responsibility, diligence, and commitment in their work.
The luncheon also marked the grand finale of the 2025 Public Service Week, which featured medical screenings, fitness walks, donations to children with disabilities, long-service awards, a government lecture, and talent competitions.
