Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has been honoured with a prestigious traditional title by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, during a grand cultural ceremony held in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the conferment took place on Monday, December 15, at the ancient palace square, where Mahama was installed as the Aare Atayeto Oodua of the Source, amid colourful Yoruba rites, heightened security, and the presence of high-profile guests from across Africa.

The ceremony drew an array of notable figures, including business mogul Aliko Dangote, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, former Botswana President Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Haastrup, the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Oloyede Esuwoye, alongside several traditional rulers from Ghana and other dignitaries.
President Mahama arrived at the venue around 1:30 p.m. in a royal-style motorised chariot, a spectacle that sparked applause and admiration from guests and onlookers.
