After his appointment as a Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, the Chairman of Conference 57 of Chairmen in Lagos State and Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, launched the Mayfair Estate Security Trust Fund (MESTF) during the 20th Anniversary celebration of Mayfair Gardens.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the landmark event, organised by the Mayfair Gardens Property Owners and Residents’ Association (MAGPORA), also featured the presentation of awards to notable dignitaries, including the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, Hon. Engr. Sesan Olowa, and Hon. Justice Adeniyi Adeogo Adebajo (Rtd), among others.

Launching the Security Trust Fund, Hon. Olowa, fondly called Jaja by his supporters, reiterated his administration’s commitment to the security of lives and property, noting that security has remained a top priority since his assumption of office.
“Since the inception of this administration, security has been given utmost priority, and that is one of the reasons Ibeju-Lekki remains peaceful and attractive to investors and residents,” he said.
He commended the leadership of MAGPORA for taking proactive steps in strengthening community security, describing the initiative as a model worthy of emulation across Lagos State.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Hon. Olowa congratulated residents of Mayfair Gardens for sustaining unity, cooperation, good planning, and shared responsibility over the last 20 years.
“This celebration aligns with a major step forward, the launch of the estate Security Trust Fund.
Security remains a critical foundation for a stable community, economic activities, and quality of life,” he stated.
“Where security is well structured, confidence grows; where it is sustained, progress follows.
The decision to establish a Trust Fund demonstrates maturity in leadership and a clear understanding of present realities.”
He further emphasized the importance of collaboration between government and organized estates.
“As a Local Government, we place high value on partnership with organized estates and residents’ associations. Community-led initiatives strengthen our public security efforts and enhance crime prevention and response,” Olowa added.
Speaking on the award presentations, he described them as recognition of dedication and service.
“It is a recognition of service and commitment. Communities advance when contributions are acknowledged and standards are upheld,” he said.
He assured residents of continued government support, stressing that unity, shared responsibility, and inclusive development must remain central to community progress.
“On behalf of the Local Government, I assure you of our continued engagement and support. Unity must remain our strength, security our shared responsibility, and development deliberate and inclusive,” he concluded.
At the event, Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu was honoured with the Excellence in Leadership Award, while Hon. Engr. Sesan Olowa received the Best Performing Chairman Award. Hon.
Justice Adeniyi Adebajo (Rtd) was also honoured for exemplary commitment, alongside several residents recognised for outstanding contributions to the estate.
Representatives of the Governor, including the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Special Adviser on Taxation and Revenue, and representatives of Eti-Osa East LCDA, described the award to Governor Sanwo-Olu as well deserved, citing his infrastructural achievements, particularly the Lekki–Epe Expressway and other developments across Ibeju-Lekki and Lagos State.
The MAGPORA Chairman, Mr. John Oluwole Arigbabu, alongside residents and stakeholders including Hon. Bolaji Dudu, Hon. Jude Iyakanwa, Mr. Peter E.O., Chief Uchena Noris Onamajulo, Mr. Sulaiman Kolawole Bello, and Engr. Augustine A., praised Hon. Olowa’s inclusive leadership style, developmental strides, and genuine concern for residents, wishing him greater success in office.
