A high-powered delegation, led by the Supervising Director, Tpl. (Mrs.) Kehinde Ajai-Ajagbe, visited the council, where they met with Mr. Issa Maruf Olayinka, Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa.
During the meeting, Mrs. Ajai-Ajagbe explained the significance of the amnesty window, emphasizing that it allows property owners to regularize their building permits without paying penal fees.
“This programme presents a golden opportunity for residents and property owners to align their developments with Lagos State’s planning laws, avoid potential enforcement actions, and contribute to a safer, more organized community,” she said.
Property owners who wish to take advantage of the programme are required to present current tax clearance, certified true copies of title documents, proof of ownership, survey plans, and as-built architectural drawings.
The LASPPPA team that visited Ibeju-Lekki included district officers covering key areas: Tpl. (Mrs.) Owoade Funmi (Ibeju West), Tpl. Ogungbo R.T (Ibeju East), Tpl. Rotimi Adegboyejo (Lekki 1), and Tpl. Saheed Lateef (Lekki 2).
In response, Mr. Olayinka praised LASPPPA for the initiative, assuring that all discussions and commitments would be relayed to the Executive Chairman for full collaboration.
“We are excited about this programme and will work to ensure that every community in Ibeju-Lekki benefits from it,” he said.
The Physical Planning Amnesty Programme is a crucial step toward creating safer neighborhoods, promoting compliance, and fostering orderly urban growth in Lagos State.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to obtain proper planning permits and secure their properties for the future.
