Animashaun, FHTI, has expressed profound shock and deep sorrow over the tragic truck accident that occurred on Monday night, January 12, 2026, along Hospital Road, Epe, where a truck reportedly lost control and crashed into a church during an ongoing service.

Eko Hot Blog reports that in a condolence message released on Tuesday, the Chairman described the incident as devastating, noting that the loss of lives in a place of worship has plunged the entire Epe community into mourning.
She sympathised with the families of the deceased, the affected church, and residents of Epe, describing the tragedy as one that words can scarcely capture.
She offered prayers for the departed souls and comfort for their families, while also wishing those injured a speedy and complete recovery.
According to her, “The loss of innocent lives, especially in a place of worship, is a painful and devastating occurrence.”
Hon. Animashaun assured residents that the local government is actively engaging relevant security agencies, emergency responders, and health authorities to ensure that injured victims receive adequate medical attention.
She added that the circumstances surrounding the accident are being carefully reviewed, with renewed commitment to strengthening road safety measures within the community.
