Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has been named a recipient of the Face of Africa Leadership Award, with the presentation scheduled to hold in London.

Salako said the Lagos governor was selected in recognition of reforms and policy initiatives implemented under his administration, particularly in infrastructure development, transportation, education and healthcare, alongside efforts to position Lagos as a globally competitive city.
He explained that the award process is based on clear benchmarks, including leadership approach, measurable results and contributions to socio-economic development.
Salako disclosed that Governor Sanwo-Olu formally accepted the nomination during a recent courtesy visit, which also served as the official presentation of the award honour.
According to him, the Face of Africa Leadership Awards is an international platform designed to spotlight African leaders whose governance records reflect impact, innovation and people-focused development.
He added that Sanwo-Olu’s acceptance reinforces the award’s objective of promoting African leadership on the global stage.
The event, Salako noted, will bring together public office holders, business executives, academics and members of the African diaspora, and will also feature panel discussions, networking sessions and honours across various leadership categories.
