The report revealed that road traffic crashes accounted for the highest number of incidents, with 394 cases recorded during the year. This was followed by 249 tanker and truck-related incidents and 204 fire outbreaks across the state.
A monthly breakdown of the data indicated that February 2025 recorded the highest number of emergencies, with 122 incidents, followed closely by April with 121 cases and May with 119 incidents.
In terms of location, Alimosho Local Government Area recorded the highest number of emergencies, with 180 cases, followed by Eti-Osa with 144 cases and Ikeja with 139 cases.
The report further disclosed that between January 1 and December 30, 2025, LASEMA’s Pre-Hospital Care Unit rescued and resuscitated 1,924 victims.
“This total comprises 906 adult males, 1,003 adult females, 13 boys and two girls,” the report stated.
During the same period, the agency recorded 173 fatalities, comprising 139 adult males, 32 adult females and two boys.
Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the agency was fully prepared to respond effectively to emergencies across the state in 2026.

Speaking at a staff retreat organised by the agency on Friday, Oke-Osanyintolu said the Lagos State Government, under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had provided critical support to strengthen LASEMA’s disaster response and mitigation capacity.
He explained that the retreat was organised both to appreciate staff for their service in 2025 and to re-energise them ahead of the challenges of the new year.
“Our chosen theme, ‘Building a Resilient and Efficient LASEMA: Strengthening Preparedness, Response and Recovery in Lagos State,’ reflects the vital role staff play daily, often behind the scenes, yet crucial to public safety,” he said.
Oke-Osanyintolu emphasised that the agency’s effectiveness extends beyond equipment and infrastructure, noting that its true strength lies in the commitment, discipline and professionalism of its workforce, particularly junior staff.
He reaffirmed LASEMA’s commitment to disaster mitigation and emergency coordination across Lagos State, while urging residents to also take responsibility for their safety.
“As much as the government is doing its part, residents must partner with us by avoiding unsafe practices that could lead to emergencies,” he added.
