Traders attribute the trend to a mix of economic and logistical factors that have continued to affect food supply and pricing.~

Economists point to the continued depreciation of the naira as a major driver of the price surge. The weaker currency has raised the cost of imported inputs such as food additives, packaging materials and machinery, pushing up production expenses for manufacturers.
Transportation costs have also worsened the situation. Rising fuel prices, poor road conditions and insecurity along supply routes have increased the cost of moving goods from farms and factories to markets.

With food inflation showing no sign of easing, many households are cutting back on consumption, raising concerns about nutrition, food security and overall living standards.
