The royal fathers of Eredo Local Government Development Area (LCDA) have celebrated the historic appointment of His Royal Majesty, Oba Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo (Telade IV), as the 6th Chancellor of Lagos State University, describing it as a proud moment for traditional institutions in Lagos State.

Eko Hot Blog reports that during a courtesy and congratulatory visit by LASU Management to the Alara’s Palace in Ilara, the monarchs commended the Lagos State Government, led by Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for what they described as a visionary decision to appoint a traditional ruler as Chancellor for the first time in the university’s history.
They said the appointment underscores the growing relevance of monarchs in education, governance, and community development.
Oba Adelani Adeniyi, the Aladegbawojo of Odogbawojo, speaking on behalf of the royal fathers, warmly described the Alara as “a brother and a true leader whose wisdom, goodwill, and humility have always inspired us.
His appointment is not just a personal achievement but a source of pride for all monarchs in Eredo LCDA and across Lagos State. We are confident that Kabiyesi will bring his experience, leadership, and influence to drive meaningful progress at LASU.”
