Eko Hot Blog reports that the exercise, conducted under the supervision of Mrs. Gbemiyi Grace, Head of the Environmental Department, was carried out on the directive of the Executive Chairman, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE).
Officials began work early in the morning, carefully treating classrooms, offices, staff quarters, and the surrounding school premises to ensure the elimination of harmful pests and bacteria.
“This exercise is part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a safe, hygienic, and conducive learning environment for our children,” Mrs. Grace explained.
“We want every student to attend school with peace of mind, knowing that their safety is a top priority.”
The Executive Chairman, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, highlighted that prompt and effective responses to health concerns in schools are a key aspect of his administration’s mandate.
“Ensuring the wellbeing of our students is non-negotiable,” he said. “A healthy environment promotes not only learning but also the overall development of the children.”
Teachers and staff of LGA Primary School commended the exercise, noting that the fumigation has significantly improved the sanitation of classrooms and common areas.
Parents also expressed relief, acknowledging that such initiatives reduce the risk of infections and allow children to focus better on their studies.
The fumigation is part of a broader environmental health strategy by Lekki LCDA, aimed at protecting school children across the council area.
By ensuring a pest-free and hygienic school environment, the administration seeks to foster a culture of cleanliness, health awareness, and responsible behavior among both students and staff.
The RBK-led administration has made it clear that such interventions will continue to be implemented regularly to maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene in all public schools under its jurisdiction.
