Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has pledged that those responsible for the recent attacks on Dorowa Babuje and Jong communities in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area will be apprehended and prosecuted, assuring residents that the perpetrators will not escape justice.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the governor, represented by his deputy, Ngo Josephine Chundung Piyo, visited the affected areas to sympathise with victims and reassure them of the government’s determination to maintain peace and security across the state.

Describing the incident as deeply troubling and a setback to ongoing peace efforts, Mutfwang said security agencies had been instructed to intensify investigations, identify those behind the violence, and ensure they are brought before the law.
He stressed that violence against innocent people would not be tolerated and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity, regardless of ethnic, religious, or community affiliations.
The governor also appealed to residents, especially young people, to remain calm, avoid retaliation, and refrain from actions such as blocking roads or engaging in conduct that could worsen tensions.

Barkin Ladi Local Government Chairman, Stephen Pwajok, praised security personnel for responding quickly to the crisis and helping to prevent further casualties.
The governor’s Special Adviser on Non-Governmental Organisations, Abubakar Kanam, reiterated the administration’s concern for the well-being of citizens and urged communities to work closely with authorities to restore stability.
Traditional ruler of the area, the Gwom Rwei of Barkin Ladi, Da Edward Bot, described the attacks as harmful to the area’s growth and development and called on residents to prioritise dialogue and reconciliation.

Religious and community leaders also advocated peaceful coexistence. Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Barkin Ladi, Rev. Samson Dido, urged respect among different faiths, noting that no religion should be seen as superior to another.
In a similar vein, the chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Jong, Alhaji Tambari Gizo, expressed appreciation for the government’s visit and encouraged efforts toward unity and understanding.
Members of the delegation included the Coordinator of Operation Rainbow, retired General Gakji Shipi, and the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Alhaji Daiyabu Dauda, alongside other officials.
The visit highlighted the state government’s resolve to enhance security measures, support affected communities, and ensure accountability for those behind the attacks.
