The Plateau State Police Command has arrested a suspected kidnap kingpin, Babangida Buba, popularly known as Babawo, who had reportedly been on the run.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Buba was apprehended by operatives of the Investigation and Response Team (IRT) attached to the command following intelligence-led operations.

According to police sources, the suspect confessed during interrogation and disclosed that he sold one of the group’s operational AK-47 rifles to Muhammadu Isiyaku, also known as Mamman, from Pankshin Local Government Area.

Isiyaku has since been arrested. Police authorities confirmed that several firearms and ammunition were recovered during the operation.
The Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah, warned criminal elements in the state to desist from unlawful activities, stressing that the command is fully prepared to tackle crime.
“The Command is ready and well equipped to deal with them decisively,” he said.
Ewah also urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious movements and activities. “See something, say something,” he advised.
Police said the suspects will be prosecuted alongside other individuals already facing charges in connection with similar offences.
