Eko Hot Blog reports that the presentation ceremony, held at the Council Secretariat in Agbowa, marked the first time in the history of the LCDA that a dedicated staff bus has been provided for official transportation of council employees.
The event also featured the handing over of official vehicles to members of the legislative arm as well as key executive officials, including the Vice-Chairman and the Chief of Staff, as part of efforts to enhance effective governance and institutional support within the council.
Speaking during the presentation, Anomo described the acquisition of the staff bus as a strategic initiative designed to improve staff mobility, promote punctuality and boost productivity within the council system.
“The provision of this staff bus is a recognition of the vital role played by our workforce in implementing government policies and programmes at the grassroots.”
The council boss noted that the initiative represents a new phase in the operational structure of the council, adding that the availability of a dedicated transportation system would help ease mobility challenges faced by staff.
He further stated that the provision of official vehicles to legislative and executive members aligns with the statutory responsibility of the council to support effective service delivery, legislative oversight and community engagement.
The chairman therefore urged beneficiaries to ensure proper maintenance and responsible use of the vehicles strictly for official duties.
“I expect all beneficiaries to maintain these vehicles properly and use them responsibly in the service of the people.”
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Vice-Chairman, Wasiu Dehinsilu; Shakirat Adesanya and the Council Manager, Sunday Awobajo, expressed appreciation to the chairman for what they described as a thoughtful and historic gesture.
“This development will greatly support the workforce and members of the council in carrying out their responsibilities more effectively.”
They described the staff bus and official vehicles as a significant step toward improving the working conditions of staff and strengthening the council’s administrative operations.
