EKO HOT BLOG reports that the initiative followed a directive from President Tinubu aimed at supporting citizens during the ongoing spiritual seasons observed by Muslims and Christians.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Director General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma.
According to the statement, the exercise is intended to strengthen national unity and demonstrate compassion during a period of deep spiritual significance for both faiths.
Uzodinma said the initiative reflects the President’s commitment to promoting unity and care among Nigerians.
He said, “Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity, and care for one another.
“Through this distribution, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will ensure that families across Nigeria feel the spirit of togetherness during this sacred period.”
The statement added that the distribution would be coordinated through the organisation’s nationwide grassroots network to ensure that families across the country benefit from the intervention during the fasting season.
It noted that both Muslim and Christian communities would benefit from the programme, highlighting the administration’s focus on inclusiveness and national unity.
Uzodinma also recalled that a similar initiative was carried out during the Christmas season when rice was distributed to support Nigerians during the festive period.

He said the effort demonstrated the administration’s continued commitment to supporting citizens during major religious and cultural occasions.
