The three day medical outreach, which began on Wednesday and ended over the weekend, provided more than 1,000 police officers with free eye screening, prescription glasses and general medical check ups.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the programme, Fayoade said the initiative would significantly improve the well being and operational efficiency of officers.
According to him, healthy officers are better equipped to perform their duties effectively and serve the public with greater dedication.
Also speaking at the event, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transport and Logistics, Hassan Adekoya, who facilitated the programme, said the initiative reflects the governor’s commitment to the welfare of security personnel.
Adekoya stressed that the safety and prosperity of Lagos depend largely on the well being of officers responsible for protecting lives and property.

The event was also attended by the Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Health, Opeyemi Ogunsakin, alongside other dignitaries.
Police officers who benefited from the programme expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government, describing the initiative as timely and impactful.
According to Fayoade, the programme was organised following a request from the command after learning about similar medical initiatives previously carried out for officers at the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Ikeja, as well as for operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and commercial drivers.
He praised the governor for approving the programme shortly after it was proposed, describing the gesture as thoughtful support for officers working daily to ensure public safety.
Adekoya also disclosed that the initiative will continue with a second phase, which will include substance abuse awareness programmes by the NDLEA and skills enhancement training organised by the Lagos State Drivers’ Institute.
He added that improving the well being of security personnel and transport operators is essential for maintaining safety and boosting economic activities in the state.
