The Adamawa State Police Command has stationed armed officers at key points across the state to guarantee a calm and trouble-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
According to the command, Eko Hot Blog gathered that the move is aimed at stopping criminals from taking advantage of the festive period to disrupt public order.

This was made known in a statement released on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.

He explained that the command, working closely with other security agencies, has developed wide-ranging strategies to maintain peace throughout the Sallah festivities.
Nguroje said the security arrangement involves personnel from various specialised units, including the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, State Intelligence Department, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, and other tactical divisions, all coordinated to ensure effective coverage across the state.
As part of the plan, security operatives have been deployed to sensitive locations such as Eid prayer grounds, Yola International Airport, major roads, markets, event centres, residential neighbourhoods, and other vulnerable areas to prevent any security lapses.
He further noted that patrols, stop-and-search duties, and visible policing have been stepped up in both urban and rural communities.
In addition, officers will sustain continuous surveillance and intelligence gathering throughout the celebration to detect and address potential threats.

The statement added that the Commissioner of Police has directed all deployed personnel to act professionally, respect the rights of citizens, and remain approachable while carrying out their responsibilities.
Parents and guardians were also advised to keep a close watch on their children and discourage any form of misconduct during the festivities.
