Four passengers have died in a tragic road accident along the Lekki–Epe Expressway after a truck rammed into a commercial bus conveying passengers along the busy route.
Eko Hot Blog reports on the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed that the fatal crash occurred over the weekend opposite Beechwood in Shapati, inward Ajah.

According to the agency, the accident involved a HOWO truck with registration number KNN 313 YL and a fully loaded Suzuki commercial mini bus popularly known as “Korope.”
Preliminary findings indicated that the driver of the articulated truck lost control while driving, causing the vehicle to veer across the road and collide head on with the oncoming passenger bus.
The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the immediate death of four male passengers.
Four other occupants of the bus, two men and two women, sustained serious injuries after becoming trapped inside the wreckage of the vehicle.
Officials of LASTMA, alongside other emergency responders and passersby, quickly arrived at the scene and worked to rescue the trapped victims from the damaged bus.

The injured passengers were later rushed to Hamon Royal Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the remains of the four victims who lost their lives were evacuated and deposited at Shency Hospital Morgue with the assistance of an emergency ambulance from the Federal Road Safety Corps.
Reacting to the incident, the General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended condolences to the families of the victims.
He also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured passengers receiving treatment at the hospital.
Bakare-Oki commended emergency officials and members of the public who assisted in rescuing the trapped victims and urged motorists, particularly drivers of articulated trucks, to drive cautiously and obey traffic regulations to prevent similar tragedies.
