A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has restrained a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Kabiru Turaki from accessing the party’s national secretariat.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the ruling was delivered on Monday by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik following a suit instituted by party members aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

In her judgment, the court ordered security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services, to ensure that the Wike-backed faction is granted access to and allowed to operate from the party’s national headquarters.
Justice Abdulmalik ruled that the PDP national convention held in Ibadan on November 15 and 16, 2025, which produced the Turaki-led leadership, contravened existing court orders.

She declared the exercise invalid, describing it as a nullity due to its violation of Section 287(3) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended.
The court further held that the convention breached provisions of the party’s constitution, rendering all decisions and outcomes from the gathering legally ineffective.
