Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has stepped down from his position as he prepares to contest the Bauchi State governorship.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the development was confirmed on Monday in a brief statement by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, who stated that the minister’s resignation had been formally acknowledged.

Tuggar’s decision follows earlier reports that some members of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet were expected to resign to pursue political ambitions ahead of the next election cycle.
His Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Alkasim Abdulkadir, had previously confirmed that the minister was interested in vying for the Bauchi governorship seat.

According to Abdulkadir, Tuggar’s next steps will align with the electoral guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Tuggar, who hails from Udubo in Gamawa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, had earlier contested for the same position and is now making another bid as political activities ahead of the elections begin to gather momentum.
