- PDP Questions Project Costs
The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has called on the state government to publicly disclose the full cost details of projects recently commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Christopher Odianarewo, the party said residents deserve transparency and should not be expected to celebrate projects without knowing how public funds were spent.

“We cannot be asked to applaud in the dark,” the statement read, adding that a state that prides itself as a megacity must also show responsibility in the management of public resources.
The party urged Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu to go beyond project commissioning and release detailed information, including the original contract sums, final project costs, identities of contractors, procurement processes, and sources of funding.
According to the PDP, its demand is based on concerns raised by past spending, particularly the reported N40.17 billion surveillance project on the Third Mainland Bridge, which it described as excessive.

The party argued that such spending raises questions, especially at a time when many residents are struggling with the rising cost of living.
It also criticised what it described as contradictions in government priorities, pointing to ongoing infrastructure projects alongside reports of displacement of residents in some communities.
The PDP maintained that development should be inclusive and reflect the needs of ordinary people, not just large scale infrastructure.
“The Greater Lagos vision must include the people, not just concrete and steel,” the statement added.
The party further insisted that the government must publish a full breakdown of the project costs in national newspapers, stressing that accountability is a constitutional responsibility, not a favour.
