The Lagos State Government has strengthened its emergency response capacity with the addition of a new fire station, as part of a series of infrastructure projects commissioned across the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the projects, unveiled during a two-day event held from April 8 to 9, 2026, are part of the development agenda of Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu.

They were officially commissioned on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

One of the major highlights is the Tolu School Complex located in Olodi Apapa, Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun. The facility includes 36 schools, a modern fire station, and a stadium with 19 mini football pitches, reflecting a blend of education, safety, and recreation.
The inclusion of a fire station within the complex is seen as a proactive step to improve emergency response and protect lives and property, particularly in densely populated communities.
In addition, a multi-agency complex named after President Tinubu was also commissioned to enhance coordination and operational efficiency among emergency and public service institutions.
Speaking at the event, the Controller-General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service praised the government’s continued investment in safety infrastructure, noting that the new station will boost response coverage across the state.
According to the agency, the newly commissioned Tolu Fire Station brings the total number of fire service locations in Lagos to 25, with more stations currently under development.

The projects underscore the administration’s commitment to building a safer, more resilient and inclusive Lagos for residents.
