The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has said the party is accommodating the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, amid internal disputes within the party in Abuja.
Yilwatda stated this on Tuesday while speaking with journalists after a meeting with party stakeholders, following tensions arising from ongoing APC congresses in the Federal Capital Territory.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that he explained that the APC has continued to work with Wike due to an existing understanding between the ruling party and the Peoples Democratic Party.
According to him, the minister is maintaining a working relationship after obtaining approval from his party to serve in the APC-led administration.
The APC chairman, however, raised concerns over what he described as a growing conflict of interest between founding members of the party in the FCT and defectors from the PDP, who he said were attempting to take control of the party structure.
He cautioned long-standing party members against abandoning the APC due to pressure from new entrants, urging them to remain committed to the party.
Yilwatda also disclosed that over ₦250 million had been earmarked for the conduct of ward and state congresses in the FCT, as part of preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He called on stakeholders to set aside tribal, religious and ethnic differences, stressing the need for unity within the party.

“There must be harmony in decision making processes in the sharing of elective and appointive positions to ensure balance and to give everyone a sense of belonging in the APC,” he said.
He further advised that all groups should be accommodated through an inclusive process that promotes diversity, tolerance and collective commitment to the party’s success in future elections.
