EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement signed by the State Chairman, Prof. Abdulrahman Akinoso, and Secretary, Dr Abiola Olaonipekun, the group said it neither participated in nor endorsed the outcome of the meeting.
The faction, operating under the leadership of former Deputy Governor, Hazeem Gbolarumi, stated that it had no prior knowledge of the gathering.
It described the summit as lacking constitutional backing and authority to make binding political decisions.
“The so-called Ibadan summit is a ruse. It was merely an assemblage of individuals, not a legitimate convergence of political parties,” the statement read.
The group also rejected any agreement to adopt a single presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
It stressed that no recognised organ of the Peoples Democratic Party at either the national or state level approved participation in the meeting.
“For any coalition or alliance to be binding, it must be anchored on institutional authorisation, not informal gatherings lacking due process,” it added.
The faction further dismissed claims of any alliance with the African Democratic Congress or other opposition parties.
It maintained that decisions of such magnitude would only be taken after due consultation within the party’s constitutional framework.
While acknowledging ongoing political realignments, the group emphasised its commitment to strengthening internal party structures rather than pursuing what it described as premature coalitions.

The faction cautioned against misinformation linking the party to the Ibadan declaration and reaffirmed its readiness to participate fully in the 2027 general elections.
