Lamido stated that his decision follows extensive consultations and a firm belief in the PDP’s resilience to tackle internal and state challenges.
During a meeting with party leaders, Lamido emphasized that the PDP remains the only platform capable of addressing the pressing problems facing the people of Jigawa.
He argued that the party maintains a superior record of project delivery compared to subsequent administrations, which he accused of implementing weak and ineffective policies.

He further alleged that the current national leadership has aggravated the country’s social and economic struggles rather than resolving them.
Lamido, the son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, appealed to the party faithful to remain united as the election cycle approaches.
He assured stakeholders that his campaign would be rooted in the core values of patriotism and service to humanity, with a primary focus on restoring effective governance to the state.
