Mairiga confirmed that all issues were amicably resolved in the interest of progress, and the party has now unified under Kwankwaso’s leadership in the state.
The internal friction began following the defection of Kwankwaso and Peter Obi to the NDC, which led to immediate concerns regarding who would control the party’s local structure.
Previously, Mairiga had rejected attempts to cede leadership to the former governor, insisting that existing executives would not surrender their roles.

These disagreements had earlier stalled integration efforts and led to the suspension of a planned state congress.
With the resolution reached, Mairiga has urged all NDC members to remain calm and dedicated to the party’s ideals to ensure success in future elections.
He described the outcome of the meeting as a “new beginning” for the party in Kano, emphasizing that collective work is now required for growth.
