Oba Adeshina Sulaimon Adebowale, the Omola of Odomola Kingdom in Epe Division of Lagos State, has passed away.
Eko Hot Blog gathered from sources close to the palace said that the monarch was still active and in good health as of yesterday and was seen presiding over a meeting of the Odomola Council of Chiefs, where discussions centered on preparations for the upcoming Ileya festival.

He was reportedly awake until about 9pm before his condition suddenly changed later in the night.
He was thereafter rushed to the Babcock University Teaching Hospital for medical attention but was later confirmed dead.
Palace sources disclosed that the development that has left his chiefs, family members and the entire Odomola community in shock.

The Late Monarch was recently seen just six days ago participating in the Kilajolu Ebi Festival in Odomola, where he actively supported the preservation of traditional values and local celebration
The event featured popular fuji musician Sule Malaika, whose performance was said to have delighted the monarch, who appeared visibly joyful and in high spirits throughout the occasion.
During his reign, Oba Adebowale was widely regarded as a promoter of peace, unity and community development within Odomola Kingdom. His leadership was credited with attracting attention to developmental initiatives and strengthening cultural heritage in the area.

The late monarch, who ascended the throne in May 2023, was presented with his instrument of office by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Local Government Council Chambers, Ita-Marun, Epe. The ceremony was marked by cultural displays, including Apala performances by veteran musician Dr. Babatunde Ishola.

Meanwhile, residents and well-wishers have begun paying tribute to the late monarch, describing him as a unifying figure whose reign, though short, left a notable impact on the community.
Traditional rites are expected to begin in accordance with the kingdom’s customs, while the palace is expected to announce burial arrangements at a later date.
As of the time of filing this report, his remains had not yet been brought back to the kingdom.
