The administration of Eredo LCDA under the leadership of Ismail Monsuru Akinloye has carried out the May edition of its Monthly Renewed Hope Cash Support Programme for widows and elderly residents within the council area.
Eko Hot Blog reports that as part of the welfare initiative, about 350 beneficiaries received monthly financial assistance alongside special Eid packages aimed at supporting vulnerable residents during the festive season.

The programme forms part of the administration’s ongoing social intervention efforts targeted at promoting inclusiveness, community welfare, and support for elderly citizens and widows across Eredo LCDA.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the Executive Chairman, represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Oladega, reaffirmed the council’s commitment to improving the wellbeing of vulnerable groups through sustainable welfare programmes.
According to him, the Renewed Hope Cash Support Programme remains one of the people-oriented initiatives designed to provide relief and encouragement to residents facing economic challenges.
He assured beneficiaries that the programme would continue to receive the attention of the administration, while efforts would also be made to expand the initiative to accommodate more residents in future editions.
The council leadership noted that the programme reflects the administration’s dedication to compassionate governance and community-driven leadership focused on the welfare of the people.
Beneficiaries who received the cash support and Eid packages expressed appreciation to the council chairman and the management of Eredo LCDA for the gesture, describing the initiative as timely and impactful.
Many of the elderly beneficiaries and widows noted that the support would go a long way in helping them during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and easing some financial burdens.
Residents and community stakeholders also commended the administration for sustaining the welfare programme and prioritising humanitarian support within the council area.
