Residents, livestock farmers, agricultural stakeholders, and government officials gathered at T-Junction, Epe, as Wale Raji officially commissioned and handed over a newly facilitated and fully equipped Veterinary Hospital aimed at strengthening animal healthcare services across Epe Division.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the commissioning ceremony marked another milestone in grassroots development and agricultural support within the constituency, particularly for livestock farmers and participants in various agricultural programmes across the division.

Speaking during the event, the Director of Animal Health and Reproductive Services, Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, Alao Machel, emphasized the importance of healthy animals in ensuring safe and healthy food consumption for the people.
“Healthy animals produce healthy meals for human consumption. This facility will play a major role in improving livestock healthcare and supporting food safety within the community,” he stated.
Mr. Machel further noted that the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development partnered in the official handover of the facility to the Lagos State Government to ensure proper management and sustainability of the project.
During the ceremony, the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture formally received the signed handover documents on behalf of the Lagos State Government.
Addressing stakeholders and residents, Rep. Wale Raji explained that the veterinary hospital was established to serve livestock farmers across the entire Epe Division, especially beneficiaries of the government’s agricultural programmes relocated to Araga for farming activities.
According to the lawmaker, the facility is expected to provide easier access to veterinary care, improve livestock health management, and reduce losses often experienced by animal farmers.
“This hospital is primarily for the benefit of livestock farmers across Epe Division, particularly those involved in the agricultural programmes at Araga. It will help them maintain healthy animals, reduce losses, and improve productivity,” he said.
Rep. Raji reiterated his commitment to supporting agriculture, food production, and rural development through impactful constituency projects that directly address the needs of the people.
The newly commissioned hospital was also fully equipped with modern veterinary facilities and essential medical equipment to ensure effective treatment, care, and monitoring of livestock within the division.
Following the official commissioning and handover, dignitaries, government officials, stakeholders, and community members were taken on an inspection tour around the facility to assess the equipment and various sections put in place for quality veterinary services.
Both the Director and Rep. Wale Raji urged residents, livestock farmers, and beneficiaries to make proper use of the facility while ensuring adequate maintenance and protection of the infrastructure for long-term community benefit.
“We must all ensure this facility is properly maintained and effectively utilized for the benefit of our farmers and the entire community,” they emphasized.
Community members and stakeholders at the event commended the initiative, describing the project as timely and beneficial to farmers, livestock owners, and the agricultural sector within the constituency.
The atmosphere at the commissioning ceremony was filled with excitement as residents applauded the delivery of another infrastructure project focused on improving livelihoods and supporting economic growth within Epe Division.
