According to the former international, Osimhen’s performances for Galatasaray have been impressive, but the next stage of his career should involve playing for a top European side regularly competing for major continental honours.

“Victor Osimhen has done enough at Galatasaray. If he wants to become the best striker in the world, he must move to a club with serious Champions League ambitions,” Nsofor said.
He acknowledged Galatasaray’s status as a major club but argued that they are not considered favourites to win Europe’s biggest club competition.
Nsofor added that Osimhen already belongs in the same category as Europe’s elite forwards and should be competing at that level every season.
The Nigerian striker has enjoyed a remarkable spell in Turkey, scoring 59 goals in 74 appearances while helping Galatasaray win three trophies. He recently inspired the club to another league title after netting twice in a 4-2 victory over Antalyaspor.
This season alone, Osimhen has recorded 15 goals and five assists in 22 league matches.
Osimhen first rose to prominence after finishing as top scorer at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup before making his mark in Europe with Lille and later Napoli, where he led the Italian club to the Serie A title in the 2022/23 season and finished among the top contenders for the Ballon d’Or.

With the summer transfer window approaching, several European giants, including Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona, have reportedly shown interest in the striker.
Meanwhile, reports suggest Jose Mourinho could return to Real Madrid, with claims that the Portuguese coach would push for Osimhen’s signing if appointed.
Mourinho previously compared the Nigerian striker to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba during his time at AS Roma.
Osimhen was close to joining Chelsea in 2024 before the move collapsed, while he also rejected a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia prior to his switch to Galatasaray.
