EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking with journalists after the exercise, the Kogi East senator alleged widespread irregularities during the primary election, accusing government agents of hijacking electoral materials meant for the process.
According to him, the development disrupted voting activities in several wards across the senatorial district and prevented many party members from participating in the exercise.
Jibrin further accused Governor Ododo of working against his senatorial ambition over fears that he intended to challenge him for the governorship position in the future.
The lawmaker declared that the political battle line had now been drawn between himself and the governor.
“Well, with the latest development, I will now contest for the governorship position against Governor Ododo when the time comes,” he said.
The senator explained that he arrived at his ward to cast his vote but discovered that no electoral officials were present. He added that similar complaints were recorded in several other wards within Kogi East.
According to him, the absence of officials and election materials was a deliberate attempt to frustrate his supporters and influence the outcome of the primary election.
Jibrin maintained that he had remained loyal to the APC and supportive of Governor Ododo, questioning why he was allegedly being sidelined despite his contributions to the party.

He also highlighted projects executed across Kogi East during his time in office, insisting that his political influence and performance would continue to strengthen the APC’s chances in the district, including support for President Bola Tinubu in future elections.
The senator’s outburst adds to growing tensions surrounding APC primaries in several states ahead of the 2027 general elections.
