President Bola Tinubu on Monday hosted the President of Madagascar, Michael Randrianirina, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, in a diplomatic engagement aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between both countries.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Randrianirina arrived at the State House Forecourt at about 2:57 pm for a courtesy visit and was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, before proceeding to a brief ceremonial reception.

The Madagascan leader was subsequently escorted to the President’s office, where he held closed-door discussions with President Tinubu.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Nigeria and Madagascar, with both leaders expected to explore areas of mutual interest, including economic partnership, regional development, and broader continental integration.
According to officials, the engagement reflects ongoing efforts by both countries to deepen diplomatic ties and enhance collaboration in key sectors critical to Africa’s growth and stability.

Nigeria and Madagascar have in recent years continued to pursue stronger partnerships within the African continent, particularly in areas that support sustainable development, trade expansion, and multilateral cooperation.
The visit is seen as part of wider diplomatic efforts to reinforce Africa-driven solutions to shared economic and governance challenges.
