EKO HOT BLOG reports that the warning was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations of the council, Azeez Sani.
According to NECO, the fraudulent websites are designed to deceive prospective applicants by requesting academic credentials, personal information and payments under the guise of recruiting examination supervisors.
The examination body stressed that it does not charge any fee for the recruitment of supervisors and assistant supervisors for its examinations.
“NECO wishes to inform the public that the Council does not request any payment from teachers applying to serve as examination supervisors in the forthcoming 2026 SSCE Internal,” the statement read.
The council disclosed that it has introduced a fully electronic recruitment system for supervisors and assistant supervisors, replacing the former manual process.
According to NECO, the new system was introduced in line with recommendations of the Ministerial Committee on the Improvement of Quality of Examination in Nigeria.
The examination body explained that the digital platform is aimed at strengthening transparency, improving the integrity of examination supervision and eliminating fraudulent practices associated with the recruitment process.
NECO urged all interested applicants to apply only through its official recruitment portal, stressing that the process is fully automated and does not involve any intermediary or third party.
The council stated that only pensionable teachers on Grade Level 12 and above who are at least 30 years old are eligible to apply.
NECO revealed that about 22,000 supervisors will be recruited nationwide for the 2026 SSCE Internal Examination, which is scheduled to commence on June 15, 2026.

The council noted that the adoption of the electronic recruitment system would help reduce fraud, promote fairness and strengthen the credibility of examination administration across the country.
NECO also urged teachers and members of the public to remain vigilant and rely only on information released through its official communication channels to avoid falling victim to scammers.
The warning comes amid growing concerns over the rise of online recruitment scams targeting job seekers and applicants across the country.
