Onanuga noted that while national reforms often come with initial pressures, the subsequent increase in statutory allocations has empowered states to execute critical, high-impact projects that directly touch the lives of grassroots citizens.
The media tour, which consists of senior journalists, editors, and public affairs analysts, was organized to inspect various ongoing and completed capital projects funded through federal-state partnerships, alongside independent legacy projects managed by the host state.
Onanuga emphasized that the nationwide exercise serves as an objective, transparent mechanism for the media to physically verify developmental milestones across geopolitical zones.
He highly praised the cordial, cooperative working relationship between President Tinubu and state executives, stating that partisan differences have been completely discarded in favor of joint socioeconomic progress.
Welcoming the delegation on behalf of Governor Alex Otti, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Comrade Ikechukwu Emetu, described the independent media inspection as a major victory for transparent governance, public accountability, and professional reportage.
Emetu explained that over the past three years, the Governor Otti-led administration has focused its energies entirely on rebuilding public confidence through the total transformation of collapsed public infrastructure, urban renewal, and the complete revitalization of the educational and healthcare sectors across Abia communities.

The Abia State leadership commended the Presidency for instituting the independent media tour, adding that genuine governance strides should be openly seen, criticized, and reported based on facts rather than political propaganda.
The state government further called on seasoned editors to prioritize the mentoring and ethical training of younger digital and investigative journalists.
Earlier in the itinerary, the Abia State Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, charged the touring media professionals to maintain strict objectivity throughout their investigative field inspections, noting that balanced reportage remains crucial to shaping accurate public understanding of government interventions.
