- Council describes the PVC as a powerful tool for democratic participation and civic engagement.
- Residents encouraged to visit the INEC office in Epe or register online through the CVR portal.
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Epe Branch, has intensified efforts to mobilise eligible youths and residents across Epe Division to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a public awareness campaign released by the council, the youth body emphasized the importance of obtaining the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), describing it as a vital tool for democratic participation and civic engagement.
According to the council, the PVC empowers citizens to actively participate in the electoral process and contribute to decisions that shape the future of their communities, Lagos State, and Nigeria as a whole.
The NYCN Epe Branch urged first-time voters, those seeking voter transfer, and individuals requiring updates or replacements of their voter cards to take advantage of the registration exercise before the closing date.
The council noted that youth participation in elections remains critical to strengthening democracy and ensuring that the interests of young people are adequately represented in governance and public policy.
Speaking through its Media and Publicity Team, the council encouraged youths not to remain passive observers in the nation’s democratic journey but to embrace their civic responsibilities by registering and preparing to vote in future elections.
The registration exercise, according to the council, will end on July 10, 2026, and eligible residents have been advised to visit the INEC office located opposite Epe Grammar School along Iraye Road, Epe, for physical registration. Prospective registrants can also commence the process online through the INEC Continuous Voter Registration portal.
The youth body further called on community leaders, student associations, religious organisations, and youth groups across Epe Division to support the awareness campaign and encourage wider participation among eligible residents.
Reiterating its commitment to youth development and civic engagement, NYCN Epe Branch stressed that every vote matters and urged young people to seize the opportunity to make their voices count through the ballot.
The council concluded by encouraging all eligible residents to obtain their PVCs and position themselves to participate meaningfully in the democratic process.
