The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, organized the 2025 Epe Local Government Spelling Bee Competition,an inspiring initiative aimed at fostering academic excellence and self-confidence among young learners.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the competition, held at the Council Secretariat, brought together brilliant pupils and students from both primary and secondary schools who captivated the audience with their spelling accuracy, composure, and intelligence.
The event also witnessed the presence of education stakeholders, teachers, parents, and community leaders, all united in their appreciation of the Chairman’s enduring commitment to youth and educational development.
In the Primary School Category, Areh Almeem of St. Michael Primary School 2 emerged as the overall winner, while Ekoja Victory of St. Theresa Primary School came second, and George Mathew of Community Primary School, Erepoto 2, took the third position.
The Secondary School Category saw Daud Mujitaba of Ogunmodede Senior College claim the top spot, followed by Alijosan Opeyemi Joy of Epe Girls Senior High School in second place, and Eze Augustine Joan of Epe Grammar School Senior taking third.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun expressed her admiration for the students’ courage and intellect, emphasizing that education remains the cornerstone of Epe’s transformation and the foundation for sustainable progress.
“Education is the greatest legacy we can give our children. When we empower them with knowledge, we are not just shaping their future, we are securing the future of our community,” she said.
She further encouraged the students to embrace learning as a lifelong journey and to see themselves as ambassadors of excellence capable of inspiring others.
She assured that her administration would continue to strengthen educational programs, provide modern learning facilities, and support teachers to enhance quality education across all schools.
The winners and other participants were rewarded with prizes and learning materials as a token of appreciation for their dedication and brilliance. Parents and teachers commended the Chairman for continuously prioritizing education and creating opportunities that motivate students to reach higher academic heights.
