The Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has called on residents to participate actively in the forthcoming Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the announcement forms part of the council’s continuous efforts to promote environmental cleanliness, public health, and sustainable community development across the LCDA.
According to the council chairman, all residents, market men and women, transport operators, artisans, and business owners are expected to take part in the sanitation exercise by cleaning their homes, business premises, compounds, drainage channels, markets, and surrounding public spaces.
Hon. Akinloye emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean environment, noting that environmental sanitation remains a collective responsibility that requires the active participation of every member of the community.
He urged residents to ensure proper waste disposal and comply with environmental regulations, warning against indiscriminate dumping of refuse and the burning of waste, which pose serious environmental and health hazards.
The chairman reiterated his administration’s commitment to creating a cleaner, healthier, and safer environment for all residents of Eredo LCDA through regular sanitation initiatives and effective waste management practices.
He further encouraged community leaders, traders’ associations, transport unions, and other stakeholders to mobilize their members to participate fully in the exercise.
According to him, a clean environment not only promotes good health and prevents disease outbreaks but also contributes to the overall development and beautification of communities.
Residents have therefore been urged to support the initiative and cooperate with environmental officials to ensure the success of the sanitation exercise.
The council expressed optimism that the collective efforts of residents would help sustain a cleaner, greener, and more environmentally friendly Eredo LCDA.
