EKO HOT BLOG reports that Obasanjo was received by Kwankwaso alongside the NDC governorship candidate in Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo.
Kwankwaso’s media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, confirmed the visit in a statement, describing the meeting as an opportunity for warm exchanges between the political leaders.
However, Hassan did not disclose the details of the discussions held during the closed door meeting.
The visit has attracted attention due to the longstanding political relationship between Obasanjo and Kwankwaso.
Kwankwaso served as Nigeria’s Minister of Defence during Obasanjo’s second term in office between 2003 and 2007. Since then, both politicians have maintained a cordial relationship despite changes in Nigeria’s political landscape.
