President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Lagos State Governor and former Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, on his 63rd birthday, praising his outstanding record in public service and governance.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Eko Hot Blog gathered that Tinubu described Fashola as a distinguished administrator whose leadership has made a lasting impact on Lagos State and Nigeria.
The President commended Fashola for his professionalism, dedication and commitment to progressive governance, describing him as a patriotic Nigerian and accomplished legal practitioner.

Tinubu also applauded his integrity, intellectual capacity and unwavering commitment to national development throughout his years in public office.
Recalling their working relationship, the President noted that Fashola served as his Chief of Staff from 2003 to 2006 before succeeding him as Governor of Lagos State, a position he held from 2007 to 2015.
According to Tinubu, Fashola expanded on the foundations of progressive governance by implementing major reforms in infrastructure, transportation, security, education, healthcare, environmental management and public administration.
He added that Fashola’s achievements helped transform Lagos into a model for innovation and sustainable urban development.

The President also recognised Fashola’s contributions at the federal level, where he served in the Federal Executive Council from 2015 to 2023, overseeing the ministries of Works, Power and Housing.
Tinubu prayed for Fashola’s continued good health, wisdom and strength, expressing confidence that he would continue to contribute to Nigeria’s growth, unity and development.
