- ADC has submitted Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi’s details to INEC
- The party described the move as a key step toward the 2027 election
- Amaechi also urged Nigerians to protect their votes during elections
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has submitted the names and details of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and vice presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through the commission’s nomination portal ahead of the 2027 general election.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the submission is one of the mandatory procedures political parties must complete as part of the electoral process before the presidential election.

Confirming the development, the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the party had successfully completed the online submission of its candidates’ particulars.

In a post on his verified X account, Abdullahi described the upload as a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the 2027 polls.
“We are pleased to announce that we have successfully uploaded the names and particulars of the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar (GCON), and our vice presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi (CON), to the nomination portal of INEC.
“This marks another important step in our preparations for the 2027 general election and reflects our commitment to offering Nigerians a credible alternative founded on competence, unity and national renewal,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Amaechi has alleged that some Nigerian politicians endanger the lives of ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission by attempting to steal election result sheets during polls.
Speaking in a video circulating online, the former Rivers State governor urged young Nigerians to protect the integrity of the electoral process by ensuring their votes are counted at polling units and properly uploaded to the INEC portal.
Amaechi also claimed that many politicians place personal interests above the welfare of citizens and cautioned parents against allowing their children to serve as ad hoc electoral officials because of the risks involved during elections.
