“It’s official: Mr Ange Postecoglou is the new Head Coach of @AlNassrFC. He signed a contract for 2 seasons. Welcome, Gaffer!” the club announced.
The 60 year old Australian takes over a star-studded Al-Nassr side captained by Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, replacing Jorge Jesus, who left the club after guiding them to the Saudi Pro League title last season.
Postecoglou returns to management after spending the past nine months away from the dugout following the end of his spell at Tottenham Hotspur. During his time with the North London club, he led Spurs to UEFA Europa League glory before departing in May 2025. He later had a brief managerial stint at Nottingham Forest.
His appointment ends recent speculation linking him with the Scotland national team job amid uncertainty over the future of Steve Clarke. However, reports suggested that his wage demands made a move to the national team unlikely.
Before joining Tottenham, Postecoglou enjoyed a successful spell at Celtic, where he won multiple domestic trophies and earned widespread praise for his attacking style of football. He has also managed the Australian national team, guiding the Socceroos to the 2015 AFC Asian Cup title, and previously coached Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos to the J1 League championship.

The move to Al-Nassr marks another significant chapter in Postecoglou’s coaching career as he looks to build on the club’s recent domestic success and compete for continental honours in the AFC Champions League.
