EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to reports, the officers also arrested a family friend who was visiting the residence at the time of the operation.
Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, confirmed the development to Punch, describing the arrest as unlawful.
Falana said the operation left Adeniyi’s elderly mother in shock and argued that there was no legal basis for arresting a relative in place of a suspect.
He said, “Police have now stormed the house of the parents of Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, Plot 3, Adeniyi Dynasty, behind Technical College, Road Safety Area, Ogbomoso.
“The father has been arrested. There is no legal basis for substituted arrests. The young man has promised to show up in court, so why arrest his father?”
A resident of the neighbourhood, who also spoke to Punch, said the police officers arrived at the residence in four vehicles before taking Adeniyi’s father into custody.
The resident alleged that the officers prevented neighbours from intervening during the operation.
The source said, “They came with four vehicles, and they started harassing them and eventually took the father away. They didn’t allow the neighbours to intervene before they took him away. At the moment, there is a man in blue clothes patrolling the area.”

The arrest comes amid an ongoing investigation into allegations of forgery and other offences linked to the activities of the Presidential Fiscal and Infrastructure Projects Council.
