The Member representing Epe Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Tobun, has reaffirmed his commitment to attracting impactful infrastructure projects to Epe as the Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA) convened a stakeholders’ engagement on the implementation of the Tiye Village–Tiye Lege Road Improvement Project.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the engagement, organised by LASURA under the Office of Urban Development, brought together government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, residents and other stakeholders to discuss the execution of the road project and secure community support for its successful implementation.
Hon. Tobun, whose intervention facilitated the reconstruction project, described the road upgrade as another demonstration of his resolve to improve the quality of life of residents through sustainable infrastructure development.
“The reconstruction of the Tiye Village–Tiye Lege Road reflects our commitment to delivering projects that directly impact the lives of our people. This road will improve connectivity, stimulate economic activities and make transportation easier for residents and businesses,” he said.
He noted that the project would address years of poor road conditions that have affected motorists, traders, farmers and other road users, adding that its completion would open up more economic opportunities for surrounding communities.
The lawmaker also commended the Lagos State Government and LASURA for prioritising urban renewal initiatives across the state, stressing that collaboration between government agencies and host communities remains essential to the success of developmental projects.
“We appreciate the Lagos State Government for responding to the needs of our people. I urge residents and all stakeholders to support the contractors and cooperate throughout the construction period so that the project can be completed on schedule,” Tobun stated.
The stakeholders’ engagement provided an avenue for community members to interact with project officials, seek clarification on the scope of work and express their expectations regarding the road upgrade.
Traditional rulers and community representatives welcomed the initiative, describing it as a long-awaited intervention that would improve mobility, reduce travel time and enhance socio-economic development within Tiye Village, Tiye Lege and adjoining communities.
The Tiye Village–Tiye Lege Road Improvement Project forms part of the Lagos State Government’s urban renewal programme aimed at expanding quality infrastructure, strengthening connectivity and promoting sustainable development across the state.
