The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has confirmed a fire outbreak at a popular supermarket in the Egbeda area of Lagos.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the agency disclosed the incident in a post on its official X handle on Thursday, stating that the fire occurred at the retail outlet located near Jimoh Bus Stop along Akowonjo Road.

According to LASTMA, emergency responders were immediately deployed to the scene and were battling to bring the inferno under control.
The agency advised residents and motorists to avoid the Akowonjo and Egbeda corridor to allow emergency personnel easy access to the affected building.
It also announced that traffic diversions had been activated, warning motorists to expect heavy congestion along Akowonjo Road and surrounding routes.

As of the time of filing this report, there were no confirmed casualties, while the cause of the fire had yet to be determined.
