President Bola Tinubu has said he is not shying away from the challenges his administration inherited from the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, insisting that his government is making steady progress in addressing them.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Tinubu made the remarks while meeting with members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The President said his administration has taken deliberate steps to stabilise the economy, strengthen security and reposition the country for growth.
According to him, Nigeria has emerged from the difficult economic period that greeted the start of his administration and is now on a sound footing.
“I don’t run away from what I inherited. I inherited challenges, and am I doing something about it? Yes, I can tell you that I’m doing something about it,” Tinubu said.
He disclosed that he recently approved the expansion of the Nigerian Army and other branches of the Armed Forces to strengthen the fight against terrorism.
Tinubu added that his administration is providing the resources needed to equip security personnel, construct new barracks and improve their operational capacity.
“There are resources to equip them, build new barracks, arm them and defeat terrorism,” he said.
The President called on Nigerians to unite in the fight against insecurity, stressing that national unity remains essential to achieving lasting peace and stability.
He also expressed confidence in the country’s economic outlook, saying the era of economic uncertainty was gradually coming to an end.
“I can tell you that the country has been placed on a sound footing, the economy has recovered and the dark tunnel that we entered into when I came into power has changed. The economy is now safe from bankruptcy,” he stated.
