The Nigeria Police Force has recorded another major operational success in its ongoing campaign against violent crime, with operatives of the Enugu State Police Command arresting four suspected criminals in separate intelligence-led operations across the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the operations, which targeted armed robbery and cult-related activities, led to the arrest of two suspected armed robbers and two suspected cultists.

The latest breakthrough is in line with the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu’s, renewed drive to strengthen intelligence-led policing, dismantle criminal networks, and improve public safety nationwide.
According to the police, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Sub-Unit of the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) on July 27, 2026, arrested one Ndubuisi Chigozie, popularly known as “Sky B,” following the confessional statement of an earlier arrested suspect. Chigozie, who is alleged to be a member of the Black Axe Confraternity, was apprehended with a pick-handle axe.
Police investigations revealed that his arrest followed the earlier apprehension of Okafor Timothy on July 26 at a hotel in Independence Layout, Enugu, where officers recovered a knife from him. The suspects allegedly robbed a victim of a Samsung A12 mobile phone, while another victim sustained injuries during the attack. The stolen phone has since been recovered.
In another operation carried out on July 26, operatives attached to the Igbo-Etiti Police Division, working in collaboration with members of the public, arrested two suspected members of the Aye Confraternity identified as Chibuike Stanley Odoh, 20, and Ezekiel Ozoeze, 30, in Ukehe, Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The suspects were allegedly found in possession of a locally made pistol and an expended cartridge. Police said both suspects confessed to their involvement in cult-related activities during interrogation.
The Command disclosed that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the criminal groups and recover additional exhibits, adding that all the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
Reacting to the successful operations, the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, commended the professionalism, dedication, and resilience of the officers involved.
He described the arrests as another demonstration of the effectiveness of intelligence-driven policing and the growing collaboration between the police and members of the public.
The IGP reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to sustaining its offensive against armed robbery, cultism, kidnapping, and other violent crimes across the country. He also urged Nigerians to continue supporting the police with timely and credible information, stressing that community partnership remains essential to achieving lasting peace and security.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, praised the vigilance and cooperation of residents, particularly members of the Ukehe community, whose prompt information contributed to the success of the operation.
Giwa encouraged citizens to remain law-abiding and continue working closely with the police in the collective effort to keep Enugu State safe and secure.
