Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, is set to be inaugurated today as the Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), following his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the inauguration ceremony is scheduled to hold at 10:00 a.m. at the Ministry of Power headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.

Ahead of the event, Fayose met with the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, to discuss plans aimed at strengthening the agency’s operations and improving rural electrification across Nigeria.
Speaking after the meeting, Fayose described the discussion as productive and focused on ensuring the REA delivers effectively on its mandate.
“I met with the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, an engineer, today, and we had fruitful discussions,” Fayose said.
President Tinubu announced Fayose’s appointment as Chairman of the REA Board last month as part of efforts to reposition the agency.
The Presidency also named Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta as board members and non-executive directors. They will serve alongside the agency’s Director-General, Abba Aliyu, and three executive directors who were previously appointed.
The Rural Electrification Agency is responsible for expanding access to electricity in underserved and rural communities across Nigeria through sustainable energy projects and initiatives.
The inauguration is expected to formally usher in the new board, which will oversee the agency’s strategic direction and support the Federal Government’s efforts to improve electricity access nationwide.
