All Progressives Congress has set up screening and appeal committees for incumbent governors seeking re-election or Senate seats, alongside other governorship aspirants, ahead of the party’s primary elections fixed for May 21.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the announcement was made in a statement issued by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.

According to the party, APC National Chairman Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda will head the screening panel for serving governors and Senate hopefuls, while Senate spokesman Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru will act as secretary.

The appeal committee for that category will be chaired by Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, with Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia serving as secretary.
Other members of the committee include Argungu, Mrs. Mary Alile Idele, Aare Durotolu Oyebode Bankole, Ambassador Haruna Ginsau, Uguru Mathew Ofoke, Barrister Felix Morka, Muazu Bawa Rijau, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, and Chief Victor Giadom.
For governorship aspirants outside the category of sitting governors, the party appointed Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye as chairman of the screening committee, while Barrister Emeka Okafor will serve as secretary.
Barrister Idris Shuaibu was named chairman of the appeal committee for the governorship aspirants, with Barrister Ibrahim Salawu appointed as secretary.
Members of the panel also include Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa, Senator Abubakar Maikafi, Dr. Abdullahi Dayo Israel, Hon. Hamma-Adama Ali Kumo, Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, and Hajia Zainab A. Ibrahim.

The APC disclosed that the screening of incumbent governors and Senate aspirants will hold between May 8 and May 9, 2026, at the Plateau State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
The exercise is expected to begin at 4:00 p.m. on the first day and continue at 10:00 a.m. on the second day.
Meanwhile, the screening of other governorship aspirants is scheduled for May 9 to May 10, 2026, at the National Working Committee Hall of the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, starting at 10:00 a.m. daily.
The party said the committees were constituted as part of preparations for its governorship and legislative primaries ahead of the next elections.
