Represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Abayomi Oluyomi, the governor said strategic infrastructure investments, including the Lagos Blue Line and Red Line rail systems, were designed to improve connectivity, reduce transportation costs and stimulate economic activities.
He stressed that stable regulations, policy consistency and strong institutions are critical to attracting investors, noting that businesses are more willing to invest where governance is predictable and credible.
Former Lagos State Governor and former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, urged investors and financial institutions to channel more resources into productive assets and long-term economic development instead of focusing solely on short-term financial gains.

Chairman of The Alternative Bank, Muhtar Bakare, also called for increased investment in productive sectors of the economy, saying capital should support enterprises capable of creating sustainable economic growth.
According to him, productive investments generate employment, strengthen supply chains, increase government revenue and deliver long-term value for investors.
Other speakers at the forum included Abubakar Suleiman, Board Member of Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc; Dr Stanley Jacob, Group Chief of Innovation and Technology at Meristem; and Ajibola Tobi-Osho, Executive Director of Tugrande Alliance Limited.
They delivered presentations on ethical finance, the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS), asset tokenisation and Nigeria’s macroeconomic outlook.
The event attracted senior investors, business leaders and public officials, including Olatunji Mayaki, Chairman of Sterling Bank; Hassan Yusuf, Managing Director of The Alternative Bank; Tonye Cole, Co-Founder of Sahara Group; Adesuwa Okunbo Rhodes, Founder of Aruwa Capital Management; Aminu Tukur, Vice-Chairman of Noor Takaful; Yemi Keri, President of the Africa Business Angel Network; and other industry stakeholders.
