The Lagos State House of Assembly has commenced the review of the state government’s proposed reordering of the 2026 Appropriation Law following a request by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the review is being handled by the House Committee on Economic Planning and Budget, chaired by Hon. Lukman Sahaad Olumoh.

The committee is examining the proposed changes to determine how available government resources can be redirected towards priority projects and programmes across the state.
The Assembly said the exercise is aimed at ensuring that the proposed budget adjustments deliver greater value and impact to Lagos residents.
The lawmakers are particularly focusing on ongoing capital projects, with attention on projects that are already at advanced stages of completion.
According to the Assembly, adequate funding for such projects would help ensure they are completed within the required timeframe.
The committee is also reviewing proposed interventions in key areas, including infrastructure development, drainage and flood control.
The review followed the resolution of the House after it received Governor Sanwo-Olu’s request for the reordering of the 2026 budget.
The committee is expected to submit recommendations to the House after completing its assessment.
The Assembly said the recommendations would promote prudent management of public funds while ensuring that the 2026 budget is focused on projects and programmes that provide greater benefits to residents.
The exercise also forms part of the legislature’s oversight responsibility as the state adjusts its spending priorities during the current fiscal year.
