The party disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, who urged APC members, supporters and prospective members to participate in the exercise.
According to the party, existing members are expected to validate their membership, while new and intending members will have the opportunity to register and become members of the APC.
The latest move comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political parties stepping up efforts to strengthen their structures and expand their membership bases.
Morka said the electronic registration exercise was designed to modernise the party’s membership system by digitising its register and improving the integrity and accessibility of membership records.
He explained that the digital system would provide the party with more efficient access to membership data for planning and management decisions, while also supporting internal democracy and the APC’s adoption of technology in its operations.
The APC spokesperson further stated that only eligible Nigerians who meet the registration requirements would be able to participate.
According to the party, registrants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number.
The reopening of the exercise is expected to provide an opportunity for Nigerians who were unable to participate in previous registration exercises to join the ruling party, while existing members can use the process to confirm their details.
The APC had earlier conducted nationwide electronic membership registration as part of efforts to build a digital and verifiable membership database. The party said the initiative was intended to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and improve its internal administrative processes. ([APC][2])
With the 2027 elections approaching, the latest registration exercise is also expected to play a role in the APC’s broader preparations for the electoral cycle as the party seeks to consolidate its structures across the country.

The party has therefore called on its members and supporters to take advantage of the registration window and ensure their membership records are properly captured and validated.
The APC’s reopening of its membership registration also comes amid heightened political activity within the party as it prepares for the 2027 presidential election and other electoral contests across the country.
